How close are we to a disintegrating society? I sent the following commentary to my 3 federal legislators to give them my opinion of the course Obama is leading us on:

 

I would suggest that you Democrats start trying to figure out how you can counter your leader’s destruction of our economy and society. Every move he makes seems to be designed to push us further toward depression. The conclusion I come to is that he wants to destroy our economy, possibly with the aim of maximizing the number of Americans subject to a nanny state and therefore inclined to vote Democrat. You cannot make me believe that you think his budgets and long term economic plans are viable or achievable. If you fail to uphold your oath to protect our constitution you will forever be a pariah. Since you wield absolute party power you cannot hide behind finger pointing at “that other party”! Unless your party grows a collective spine we are doomed to the same decades long agony of 10% to 20% unemployment our parents and grandparents suffered in the 30’s, 40’s and early 50’s. Obama’s plans are madness and you must know it. All you have to do is look at California to see the result of trying to spend yourself out of a recession created by a nanny state that tried to take altruism to the point of absurdity. IT WILL NOT WORK!

I’m writing this in the (probably futile) expectation that you still have a dim memory of what the Founding Fathers goal was in creating this country. A year or so ago I was thinking that you Democrats had a goal of turning America into France. How naïve I was! In the last month we shot past France into what- Cuba on steroids? Venezuela? The damage Barack Hussein Obama is doing to America couldn’t be worse if he were a closet Muslim Terrorist!

We can still salvage our country, and you can still salvage part of your honor, if you act now and take the following actions:

1)      Repeal Sarbanes-Oxley, including mandatory mark-to-market accounting

2)      Eliminate all taxes on capital gains

3)      Reduce corporate taxes from 35%, the worlds highest, to 20%

4)      Allow full expensing for business purchases including real estate

5)      Declare that anthropomorphic “global warming” is a hoax and the “cap & trade” death sentence will not be imposed on our economy

While it seems incredible that Democrats would have forgotten what happened the last time you targeted the 2^nd Amendment for elimination, apparently you have. I expect that you believe that in the chaos of a disintegrating economy you could slip a new, expanded “Evil Looking Weapons” ban past a demoralized citizenry. At least your President apparently believes that. His Atty. General has put us on notice that the rights of Americans are less important than some hoped for reduction in arms smuggling across the border to Mexico. Gun owners are not in the least surprised! Considering the uncertainty and deceit your leader has injected into our society, it should not come as a surprise that misguided attacks on law-abiding firearms owners will not be tolerated. The rights of our citizens were clearly recognized by our Founders as endowed by our Creator, and clearly not “granted” by man, and therefore could not be taken away on an ideological whim. Not by the political goals of politicians or by external organizations such as the United Nations. While gun owners in the past have overlooked incremental violations of their 2^nd Amendment rights, I suspect that won’t happen in this instance. Few will be willing to be deprived of protection when we are so close to societal chaos. I wonder if your party is willing to criminalize 80 to 100 million citizens with a stroke of the pen. Where would you get the money to build the jails to incarcerate us? And how would you justify jailing one third of the country to the other two thirds?

Remember, it was your leader who said we had to pass this “stimulus” bill NOW or it would cause a catastrophe! Have you ever considered the possibility that passing such a monster might itself cause a catastrophe?
